. 2001 Chicago Mackinac Race Updates - July 15 AM

The following reports are on Michigan Time.
Reports from Ike Stephenson on Jeannine III in Section 2.

11:55 pm Saturday July 14 -
We are currently located off of Holland Michigan north of Michigan City Indiana.  The wind was from the Northeast most of the day at 8-10 knots.  After the sun went down it clocked around to the SW and is blowing a consistent 8.  A nice warm evening has followed our very warm day.  The sky is clear with tons of stars.  Erleichda and Criterion were just behind us as darkness fell.

2:58 am Sunday July 15 -
The wind has gone a lot more west at this time.  Our boat is moving at a consistent 9 knots with a few scattered clouds blowing in.

8:02 am Sunday July 15 -
As we approach Pentwater the wind is more southerly again.  Erleichda snuck by us in the night.  We are all flying chutes with the wind at about 12 knots.  We are currently 60 miles south of Point Betsie.
